The smell of wood has driven us every day in our work
The history of our company is a story that tells about passion, love, tradition and family.
A story that began many years ago, in 1947, when our grandfather Benedetto, in a garage in the center of Gattinara, began what would have later become Sais Compensati.
All of this is a daily routine for us in which the smell of wood embraces us, in which we can touch and feel with hand the composition of the plywood, in which the word “family” becomes one with the word “company”.
SAIS was born, during the postwar period, almost by accident, when a neighbor who owned a plywood company in town asked our grandfather to help him make child seats in beech wood for schools.
Slowly the first presses were bought and, taking advantage of closing days of the factory of this neighbor where there already were some machines, our grandfather began his path in the experimentation in woodworking.

The roots of our company started growing and a while later, with the awareness of its quality and potential, some land was bought right outside of Gattinara to start developing the business.
Step by step, generation after generation, machine after machine, our company began to form. A company capable of creating, innovating and producing, methodically and with good reliability, a product with a growing quality to it.
Passion from one generation to the next
The generation passage represented the natural course of things, like a tree putting its roots in the soil and, slowly, patiently but with determination, growing day after day.
Each generation saw the factory as a place to find each other to play, a place to first experiment and then learn the job. Carrying on the family tradition is a process that involved us two brothers (Andrea and Paolo) and, before us, our father Piero.

SAIS Compensati was born with its headquarters in Gattinara.

It allowed us to improve the quality of the interiors and increase productivity.
Purchase of an automatic boiler for processing production rests.
It allowed us a 100% independence in the production of steam from gas and oil.

We began to collaborate with furniture manufacturers abroad and we expanded our range of products.
